If you have known me for any amount of time, you know that I like things that are......well, different. For quite some time I have had a need for a mid size-ish 9mm for concealed carry. I had been thinking of getting a Glock 19 to fill this role, but was holding out to hopefully find a Gen 3 RTF2 at a gunshow. This idea quickly disappeared as I perused the sale flyer at Cabela's after I walked in the door. Just a warning, lots of text ahead, but lots of pictures as well!

This has been stewing in the back of my head for several days now. Needless to say nearly everyone is talking about the shooting in Connecticut, and possible legislation that may come from it. At first I was going to let this go, but the more I think about it, the more I worked up I get from it. Just as a warning, there may be some adult language in this article.
As I have gotten older, I find myself saying this quite a bit. I would rather have few quality weapons, then a high quantity of mediocre, or low quality weapons. I remember back in the day. I had two AK 47's and two AK 74's. I wanted to go out and buy damned near every cheap rifle and pistol they made, I just wanted MOAR. But now, having seen the error of my ways, I have reformed myself, and my plans for the future. Last week at Cabela's I ran across this gem on clearance. I have an infatuation with things that are uncommon, and especially the Steyr M9. I have wanted one for quite a while to see how they hold up, but now, I finally have the chance. For less than $400 I am the owner of a Steyr M9. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think it is a great looking pistol. It may be blockier than a Glock, but I think it is angular, somewhat like a stealth fighter (in a low budget movie...). Stay tuned, a full write up is coming shortly. |
