As I wrote about in my Mule Deer Hunt article, the .338 Lapua Magnum is complete overkill for close range. As I say, "Learning what not to do is a big part of the learning process", so I figured others can learn from my mistakes.

    Just last week I finished up my first Mule Deer hunt since 2002, and myself and my friend Martin were both successful in harvesting our deer (his, was much bigger than mine....in a totally heterosexual way of course). So here are some pictures from the trip, some insight, and some lessons learned! There will be some graphic pictures ahead, so do not click if you do not like seeing dead deer.
