Merry Christmas to all! Christmas also marks one year of www.randomgunstuff.com being live.
I started this site at the urging of my friends, who said I am an idiot savant, and I should do something about it. After thinking about it a bit, on Christmas of 2012, I launched the site.
In the last 12 months this site has attracted 48,000 unique visitors, with the highest traffic month being over 8,000. To date the most popular articles have been the Steyr AUG A3 Initial Impression, Kel Tec PMR 30 review, and the Steyr M9 review. In a Google Search my Steyr AUG review, and accuracy test are number one. That being said, what is in store for the future?
- With the acquisition of the Glock 19, I will be testing it against the Smith and Wesson M&P, and Steyr M9. The ammunition/reloading component shortage of the last year have hampered anything further with the M9. With things getting somewhat back to normal, I will now be able to do some of the things I have planned with the M9. Oh, and we might throw a couple Browning Hi Power pistols into the mix...
- The Giant Ginger just purchased a .20 VarTarg. What the fuck is a .20 VarTarg you ask? Calm your, tits, you will soon find out!
- After completely decimating my Mule Deer with my .338 Lapua Magnum, I am now on the quest for the perfect hunting rifle for the Western US. I have my setup planned, just waiting due to that whole pesky money thing.
- This year, I started working at a rather large gun store. Here in the near future (as in I have started the article, it looked like shit, so I need to revise it), I will be doing a write up on what it is like to work at a gun shop. Also, I will be doing a series of Random Gun Stories based off the shit I hear and see at work.
This year has been pretty hard for me, but things are looking up. And with that, hopefully I will be putting out more quality articles, on a more consistent basis.
I would like to thank each and every one of you who visit this site, and thank you for the emails (whether it be hate mail, questions, or general inquiries). Seeing that people actually get some good information off my website, and hearing feedback is pretty gratifying.
I am looking forward to this next year, and to putting out more articles soon. I hope you and yours have a merry Christmas, and we will see you soon!
